This months photo challenge was to find beauty in ugly.
As I was driving to my nieces graduation party in Sioux Falls last week, I couldn’t help but notice all the graffiti on the trains as we passed them. It hit me that in the ugliness of the defacing property that doesn’t belong to you, there is actually beauty in the art of the defacing itself. You can’t help but turn your head and look when the eye popping colors jump out at you as you drive by. If it hadn’t been raining with luminous clouds chasing us as we drove home the next day, I would have gotten out and gotten a closer look and more detailed shots of the beautiful ugliness of graffiti.
